Archeology
Ever wondered how archeologists know how to identify the bones they find? What animal is it? Do habitats play a role? How do they get the bones out of the ground? Come find out. Students will see animals in a real farm setting. They will observe how they eat and interact with the environment they live in. Students will look face structures and differences, teeth, feet, muscles, and movements of a variety of animals. Students will learn how both the natural environment and animal nutrition plays a role in identification. Students will then see bones of each species and will learn to identify what animal they are looking at. Using a variety of tools and other resources student will learn how an archeologist retrieves bones from the ground in varies seasons and weather.
